Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954, in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox are her parents. Lennox studied flute, piano and harpsichord at the Royal Academy of Music London for three years throughout the 1970s. Lennox made it through on a student's stipend as well as working part-time to supplement her earnings. In the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied with her skill when compared with her peers and she pondered what alternative direction she would take. Lennox was a flute player in a band named Dragons Playground in 1976. She left the band before the band was invited to compete on I.T.V.'s talent show New Faces. From 1977 until 1980 she served as the singer-songwriter for The Tourists, a British pop group. The band was where she made friends with Dave Stewart and together they formed The duo Eurythmics. Lennox was later able to record her debut solo album Diva. This was released in 1992. It was an enormous success, both in terms of selling and critically acclaimed. Nostalgia Lennoxs 6th solo album came out in the month of October, 2014. The C.D. Lennox compiled her top soul jazz blues tracks from childhood. Lepidoptera includes four keyboard improvised tracks. The E.P. The album is a companion to her album Now I Let it go... art installation, which was displayed at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. It's also her debut independently-released album. Annie Lennox was born in 1954 on the 25th of December. She is a philanthropist, activist as well as a performer. The Tourists had a minor hit in late 1970s. Lennox as well as Dave Stewart, a fellow musician, would go on to become famous internationally in the 1980s with the Eurythmics. In 1992, Lennox began her solo career, releasing their debut record Diva with a variety of successful songs includingWhy andWalking on Broken Glass. Medusa the studio album released in 1995 includes cover versions of tracks like No MoreI I Love Yous and A Whiter Shade of Pale. She has released six solo studio and compilation albums.
